Launch of engineering consulting practice

Hi,

I have just launched my service business, an engineering consulting practice.

I have been working in the corporate sector as a consulting engineer for 13 years.

Currently I am working 2 days on contract and 3 days full time on my business.

Leaving the corporate sector and going out alone is daunting and I am having some thoughts as to whether it is the 'right' move.

I have completed all the planning and have structures in place for my business and I am now ready for this.

At the back of my mind is the query as to whether it will be worthwhile and whether leaving the corporate world is a good idea.

Does anyone have similar experiences whereby they have left the 'safety' and pay of a corporate job to launch a service business? Has it been a good move?

I am currently setting myself a 1 year timeframe to succesfully launch.

It would be very interesting to hear of other s

imilar cases and thoughts.
