Raising Start-Up Money

Thanks for your ideas and comments.
I am posting in different forums. Posting in UK Business sounds great.
I do give a 20% back and a higher percentage could be negotiated depending on the amount given. I thouroughly been thinking about getting some V.C. However, I do think that I would prefer them to invest in my second busines. I am starting with no money of my own. If I've had some, I will put it all as I am very comfident of my business.
I will check again the government loan scheme. Thanks.
Wish you all the best Phil,
Not a problem always glad to help
Hi Jean Luc
You have not said what the £15000 is for. Will you be selling someone elses coaching material and personal development products. Don't they have a credit type agreement. They should be convinced that you will make money and be able to repay the loan.
You also did not say how you will be expected to find new customers and how much the 'product' costs.
Possibly if there are other individual in the Uk who have perchased this 'product' before they may be able to invest in you.
Dear fellow Entrepreneurs,
Thanks for Your support. I haven't found anyone here in UK to help, but I did find the help in my homecountry.
Two friends of mine came foward to help me started. After more than 3 years of research, analaysis and trials & errors from which I have learned a great deal,I am now flying. For those of you who reads those lines and need helps or advices on starting a homebased business, I will be delighted to help and mentor You.
To Your Prosperity and Freedom,
Yours Sincerely
Jean-Luc

Sorry, folks, and sorry Jean Luc if you're genuine, but it all sounds like so much bunkum to me.
Wealth creation business? Right. For whom? You, obviously, and nobody else. Otherwise you'd be offering a bit more evidence and explanation of the exact nature of your business. If you went to a bank, instead of trying to scam unwary individuals, you'd be made to jump through hoop after hoop, providing documentation, credit records, proof of identity, etc etc. Have you considered trying the conventional routes? If you're so certain your business is going to be such a great success, why not? They'd be delighted to lend to you so long as your business is legal, decent, honest and truthful. So ... ?
You are posting on several business start-up sites, and making the same posting in multiple topics on the same forum (here) where you expect to find naive people who are desperate to get rich quick. Most Brits aren't that stupid.
You have corny names like 'wealthyangel' etc.
You are using Hotmail for a 'business' address. Surely we all know that most of the world's most cynical scammers use anonymous email and web addresses such as Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.
You are based in "York". New York, is that? Your use of English tells me it is not your mother tongue. Maybe there's a 'York' somewhre in Eastern Europe or Nigeria? Whatever, if you were genuine, you wouldn't be seeking funding from random individuals with no business funding track record. You might be going to City investors, though. We have plenty of those over here and they're easy to find in the London Business Pages.
In short, I would desperately urge everyone on this forum to completely ignore this type of posting and absolute DO NOT PART WITH ANY MONEY, because I'd put money on that being the last you ever see of it.

I see Jean Luc has not replied to the above post. Does this mean its touching close to the bone?? As a new person setting out I was hoping that logging on to these site would be of help, now I find I have to be wary of everyone :S:S
Thanks Avril for putting another slant on things.

Not for me thanks - I'm just in the throes of setting up myself so not much spare cash myself.
Good luck with raising the captial.
If it helps couple of ideas and comments.
Have you any capital yourself - finding matching finance might be easier?
Have you tried the governments loan guarantee scheme - I beleive they'll match funds you invest up to a certain level and again there is talk of this scheme being extended/improved as part of the goverments recent efforts to support business.
Have you tried posting your request on other forums - UK Business Forum being probably the best IMHO, I'd however consider a rethink on the no equity point. With nothing other than a project 20% RoI I'd suspect people wouldn't be wanting to throw in £ 500 or £ 1,000 without getting something back. How about letting investors into a minority shareholding of up to 30% for their £ 15,000 ? You still get to keep a mjority shareholding and 70% of the profits - remember without funding you may not be able to proceed.
Hope this helps - not trying to be preachy though so just ignore me if you want !
Bullish about Business, what recession ....
