Which Bank?

Which Bank?

I am looking to set up a bank account for my new venture, and was hoping to get some feedback about that banks you have gone with ( already read the Abbey post :) )

Cheers

Which Bank?

Hi i've recently set up my bank account and after looking at them all I went with HSBC as they have given me free banking for 18 months and then there are ways after that to continue with free banking for some of the items.

I've been a personal customer with First Direct their internet personal section for years and with HSBC before that. I've always found them of great help when i've needed it.

I did compare several and just found these right for me.

Hope this helps.

Banks

Hi Gavin,
This subject has popped up many times on this site, I think there should be a permanent poll on here (Steve)so we can just vote for the best bank, Which I think may not exist and they are all as bad as each other, the only time they are interested in a business is if you are doing well then you get treated like royalty!

In the current financial climate I've heard Barclays are doing okay and one of if not the only bank still lending so you should be safe with them?

As for Abbey, well you get what you pay for!

Hi Gavin When it came down

Hi Gavin
When it came down to me choosing my bank, I was originally going to go with my personal Bank, Halifax, however, I sought advice from an accountancy firm just to ensure I was on the right path.

They pointed out it would be better to keep your business accounts in a separate bank account with a separate bank entirely. So I looked into the Natwest, as my uncle works for them, and they also offer you 2 years free banking.

So I've gone with them. Hope this helps.

differing personal and business accounts

I just wondered why it was better to keep the accounts separate. I decided to go with HSBC because we have banked with them for many years and always been pretty good. Plus I am dealing with Asia so seemed sensible. As I understood it banks were supposed to treat the two accounts as completely separate and the state of one can not affect the other even in terms of bankruptcy and such like.
