'The Small Business Handbook' finished!

I have just pressed 'Send' to email the finished manuscript for 'The Small Business Handbook' to my publisher.

It's been a long time in coming because of my operation earlier this year, so it was great to finally complete it. I just hope you guys like it when it publishes in early December!

I've just tidied up my study which was strewn with my research, and I'm now going to have a nice bottle of red with dinner, followed by a celebratory whisky and cigar! (I don't normally smoke anything but it feels like a good way to celebrate!)

Congratulations on finishing the manuscript. I'm sure all that grafting over the past few weeks made you enjoy the dinner, wine and cigar all the more!

Looking forward to the new book. If it's anything like 'Flying Start Ups' it'll be a surefire winner.

Her list of changes arrived today and it wasn't tooooo bad ;) and I'm now working through them all doing some rewrites.

I have to have these done by tomorrow!!

Then it will go to the copy editors who look for my spelling mistakes, typos, inconsitencies etc.
That's the bit I really hate! ;)

Anyway, back to the book for now!

Whisky

I think it was the whisky that did for me more than the wine! (i'm a single malt enthusiast)

It was a great reward - I was sitting outside in the quiet evening, sipping (understatement) whisky and puffing on my cigar (my 3rd ever!).

It was lovely to spend some time without having to think about taxation and recruitment and all those other things I've been writing about, thinking about and dreaming about non-stop for ages!

As an aspiring writer who has an EDITOR for a fiance, I find writer/editor relationships (professional or otherwise!) rather delicious! :D
